HIV/AIDS
Problem:
There is a raising amount of people becoming infected with HIV in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is the only country in the South Asia Region with a rising level of HIV / AIDS. The people are sharing dirty needles during drug usage and are spreading HIV. Because there is a high drug rate there are more people sharing needles and also sharing whatever deceases they may have as well.
Cause:
There are a few different factors to why HIV is still spreading and rising still to this day. One reason is the sharing of needles and syringes. This group is know is the injecting drug users (IDU). Even though this area is doing better it still shows high data that it is starting to slowly decrease. Other than the common factors there is still the fact that a fair amount of the population is unaware of the risks that come from sharing needles and having unprotected sex with multiple partners. The majority of the population consists of people from the age 15-49 and a good amount of them lcm the knowledge and are unaware of the ricks when it comes to HIV and AIDS.
Solution:
HIV is a serious problem which is difficult to handle. The main problem is that the people of Bangladesh are uneducated of how bad HIV can be and what is to come if it happens to them personally. One thing that can be done is to start by educating the people. We can start by providing classes and seminars for everyone especially the women and children. We can get volunteers to hold classes twice a week for all ages and genders for about a minimum of 3 months to give a basis to start from and to provide enough time to learn all of the causes, effects and ways to prevent it. Now for those who have already have HIV there is treatment needed. We can provided treatment for those with HIV for a low cost by using generic medications that we can get from other countries at a low price that work just as good. This treatment process will take many years depending on the people that need it and how long we can continue to afford to ship in the treatments and depending on if the HIV rated start to drop or stay the same.
The sharing if dirty needles is another cause of HIV. To help prevent people from sharing their needles for drugs if we were to ask the bank for $30 million we can buy a large amounts of clean syringes to last roughly 3 years. We can go to all of the areas with a high population of people doing drugs and provide them with clan material so they do not use dirty ones and provide them with help clinics and help if they desire the help to be clan.We will spend roughly $1088.37 a year for a box of 10 needles costing $6.95 per box/ per person.
Some problems that might come from this is that we might not save up enough funds to provide as much help as we hope for but we should be able to at least stat helping even if it is to a limited amour of the population. Not all people will be willing to make the change to help prevent HIV. Some people are so used to their lives already they might not want to change the way they live their lives. There is always the chance that because we are providing the materials for free at first, some people might take those and sell them for more drug money and continues the cycle which does not help in our favor.

Problem:
Unprotected sex is one of the main causes of HIV in Bangladesh. People are having sex for money and are not using protection and are spreading and catching all kinds of deceases.
Cause:
One of the rising rates is unprotected sex with female sex workers and man to man sex. Male IDU are paying to have sex with FSW and there is a low rate of males that use condoms. This can cause the males to transfer HIV to their partners and then the FSW continue to work and pass it on to their next payer that comes along.
Solution:
Another problem is unprotected sex. To help prevent unprotected sex we can start a fundraiser to help save money to save to buy condoms to hand out to the population to help insure protection and decrease HIV. If we were to save up $6264 million for condoms we can provide a box of condoms for each person costing roughly $20 a box. We can do fundraiser to provide shoes for children or ask other well off countries lend a hand in the fundraiser to help the HIV cause. We can provide these to the population those who are men having sex with other men and sex workers and those who have many sex partners in a short period of time. We can provide this help for roughly 2 years to help start a trend of using protection and after the two years are up they can be found at the clinic at a fair price for a large pack and free for one at a time if needed.
Instead of trying to stop sex workers and same sex relationships as a short term goal we can first start with providing sex workers with condoms as they work so that they are protected and later in the long run we can slowly help these women find work in other places and get out of sex work.
Some problems with this is that even thought there are condoms being provided some people are agents using them and are so caught up in the moment that they forget to use condoms. Once peopleHIV they don't tell others that they have it and continue to have sex with their partners and are passing it on. If we cannot raise enough money to get all of the condoms to pass them around we might not be able to help as many people as we wanted.
After a few years of doing this we can see how much of the population have developed HIV since the program was started and see if providing the condoms has helped in any way. We can also see how many sex workers there still is and if the rates have dropped any. If the rates are still the same or have raised we can work harder and find new ways to help the population.
